There's nothing like the nostalgia of a homespun Christmas, blending old fashioned decor with home made rustic crafts.

Rustic Christmas Crafts

The look is of hand made items, lovingly crafted out of found objects, sometimes natural materials, often whimsical and fun.

The more rustic, the better, so think rough barnboard stockings, hung with wire from a twig hook above the mantel, strings and garlands of popcorn or dried berries or beads, tiny trees made of wood, twigs, wire or fabric.

Topiary of heart shapes covered in ivy, paper white narcissus bulbs, tiny white lights, wooden spool angels and grubby candles decorate the mantel.

The focal point of a Christmas tree could be one trimmed down to the bare minimum, with branches arranged horizontally, decorated with tiny birds nests, clay stars and snowflakes, with a burlap skirt to cover the stand.

Tree toppers made of thin aluminum sheets, reindeer fashioned from lengths of twigs, packages and parcels wrapped in burlap or plaid fabric, tied with twine and labeled with stamped grubby labels snuggle around the base.
