If you see a vintage tin sign in your travels, you should grab it quick; whether it's advertising for pop or other products, these are highly sought after to add bright colors to country decor.

Some of the most popular tin signs are those advertising soft drinks; Orange Crush, Coca Cola and many more may have faded into history but the signs are still around.

Some are more collectible than others, but you can choose your favorites based on the colors alone, not what they might be worth to someone else.

Other collectibles are garage or gas station signs, which often feature gasoline or oil products - perfect for man cave decor. Typically, the motifs are brightly painted, in simple and recognizable shapes.

The longest lasting of these store signs were made of metal, then enameled or painted to make them last a long time. Luckily for us, this worked to keep them bright and legible for generations.

Look in garage sales, auctions and flea markets; be prepared to spend a lot on these, especially if they're in excellent shape.

Those more weathered may be more affordable.

Many signs fell victim to bullets as people used them for target practice; these are still fun and interesting to display, but not worth the money that a pristine example would fetch.

Use as wall art under cover, because many of these signs won't withstand too much wear and tear; although designed originally to be displayed outdoors, some are just too fragile and precious to risk any more damage.

Many of them show rust, holes, and faded paint which devalues them, but they are still worth hanging on the wall as decorative objects.

As an investment, vintage advertising is something you can enjoy, which doesn't lose its value.

If you find some old store signs with bright motifs and lettering, grab them quick!  These lovely old pieces of art work disappear fast.
