Oh it's hot out! The sidewalks are steaming, and you could cook an egg without a frying pan. Good weather to sit indoors under the air conditioner, or with all the windows closed and a fan on.

I now have a heat pump, it's all the rage here on Prince Edward Island. The government decided in its wisdom that we should all have one, but on really hot days it's putting quite a load on the electrical grid. So much so that we are prepared for a blackout or a brown out at any time. What are the preparations, you ask?

Well, we start with opening all the windows at night to cool the house off. Then when the outside temperature and inside temperature are about the same (usually around 21 degrees Celsius) we close all the windows and the curtains. It's a process to learn how to do this in quick time, but we can open and close up the house in about three minutes! It's good for when you get a sudden rainstorm, and need to get the windows closed.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. If you're still with me, here's a free copy of the building rustic furniture e-book

Give it a read, and if there's anything you feel is missing, let me know.

If you happen to make any of the projects, or one that you develop all on your own, I would love to hear about it - and see any pictures.
