The days are warm, nights are too, and that means it's gearing up for summer. If you're eager to get going, now's the time. June 1 2026I like to make things out of rustic twigs, especially trellises. Here's how to make a mini twig trellis to put in a planter, or maybe a wooden box planted with something to climb up it, preferably with flowers on it. That would be totally cute, and something very different.Other different crafts might be something like painted wooden signs using some of these short garden sayings to put in the garden. They can be attached to a post in the ground, or tacked onto a shed, whatever takes your fancy. I think if you collect something, your porch should be stuffed full of whatever that is. It may be that one fun motif would be elephants. Sort of like these fun

. I was fortunate to find the weird seeding plates in a junk yard, but keep your options open for something similar. Or go a different route and use discarded rubber hose with wire inside to make it more realistic for a trunk. Tusks can be curved twigs, the eyes could be beads. The options are endless.
