There. The spooky season is over, now it's time to think about snow, and angels, and all the other rustic Christmassy things. November 1 2025There are few things more cozy than getting the wood in, and sitting by a crackling fire with some cocoa or other adult beverage. I always referred to my three dogs lying in the warmth on the floor in front of the woodstove as my 'dog carpet'. Now with only one dog, and the woodstove in the basement, it's just not the same.I miss my little terrier every day, even though she left me almost 18 years ago. This little felt pet replica is all I have left of her. She was my heart dog. Now I have Ash, a goldendoodle, who is smart and so easy to train, with some interesting traits. It will be interesting to see if he can heal the pain of my loss. I think he can! With the days getting shorter at this time of year, I try to brighten up the inside and the porch with different kinds of lamps. Like these;
