Legs? Or a Hanger?

Would you use this for legs?

I found this odd looking thing under the porch of our rental house, hidden from view - obviously someone else was intrigued by it. What would you use it for? To hang a wind chime or two off? Or as the legs of a mystical welded beast?

I sold all my treasures, including all the rusty metal pieces of unknown origin. The person who bought all the pieces was going to weld them together to make into garden art. I wonder where this piece would fit.

We're Not In BC Any More

We moved to Prince Edward Island, right across this big continent of ours, and this weird object came with us. We asked if anyone knew what it was, and an image search came up with this post! Sorry, we still don't know what it is.
